Miss Lebanon

MISS LEBANON tells the untold behind the scenes story of the Miss Lebanon Australia Beauty Pageant.

Back in 1971, a beautiful young woman became the icon of Lebanon, when she was crowned the country’s first winner of the prestigious Miss Universe Pageant.

Since her victory, Lebanese families worldwide have handed down the story of Georgina Rizk and dreamt that one day their daughters would emulate Georgina’s success.

In Sydney’s Lebanese community, modern young women enter the competition hoping it will thrust them to stardom beyond Australian shores as the winner will go on to compete in the Miss Lebanon Emigrant Pageant in Beirut against entrants from all around the world.

From Australia to Lebanon, this documentary brims with exuberant characters and is an international story of big hair, fake eyelashes and a celebration of Lebanese heritage.
